The Channel District is located in the heart of Port Isabel. During the 1920s, when the channel was dredged, Port Isabel was actually cut off from the mainland, making the east part of town an island. The Port Isabel Side Channel runs through town from the Brownsville Ship Channel to the Laguna Madre Bay.

The Channel District is home to businesses involved in the fishing industry, rv parks, a motel, a marina, a fresh seafood store and several restaurants and bait shops.

Businesses located in this district are indicated with the Channel District icon on their business listing page.
