TRANSPORTATION:
• Access to Port Isabel and the surrounding communities is mostly by ground vehicle via either highway 48 from Brownsville or highway 100 from interstate 77.

• Access to Port Isabel and South Padre Island, from Brownsville and Matamoros, is facilitated by the expansion of highway 48 by the Texas Department of Transportation [TXDOT]. This highway is a full four lane venue from the entry to the Port of Brownsville north to the intersection of highway 100 in Port Isabel.
